Diekemper Photography is located at 644 IL 185, Vandalia, IL 62471.
We are 1.5 miles northwest of town right off of Highway 185.
Studio hours are Tuesday-Friday, 9AM-5PM and Saturdays 9AM-Noon
The studio is on over an acre, which along with the variety we offer indoors, gives our clients an outdoor option for their sessions.
Information
For sessions other than senior sessions, our typical session fee is $100.00. These usually last around 45 minutes to 1 hour. We do allot more time if needed. We recommend around 2 outfits per session. Of course all sessions are different and may only require one outfit, or we may suggest more. Be sure to discuss any and all details when booking.
We do offer after-hour sessions for an additional fee.
We can DEFINITELY travel!! I love to see new locations; family farms, hidden gems that only you know about, etc!
Depending on the location, we may charge a travel fee.
Our weekend appointments book very quickly! If there is a Saturday date you or your family are interested in, even if it's 6 months in advance, please contact us to be sure we can save your date.

After your portrait session, after the stress of selecting outfits for everyone involved, after the work of making sure everyone's hair is styled, clothes are ironed, and everyone is smile ready, it's time to view and order your products.
We truly offer something for everyone. As the photographer, I don't feel as though my job is complete without providing our clients with a finished product. We do offer digital collections as well, but my hope is that our clients leave with prints from their sessions, or collages, or albums; gifts for their families, prints for their walls; proof of their session to show off to the world. Hopefully 50 years from now, you'll look back at our logo and remember, 'oh yeah, that Diekemper girl took this image!'
All of our prints are laminated and mounted and ready to frame. Our albums are totally custom, and we have a wide variety to choose from. We also carry frames of all styles; trendy, colorful, rustic and simple.

How we proof.
Approximately a week after your session has been photographed, you will come back to the studio for your in person sales appointment. At this sales session, you will view your proofs projected on the wall, and place your order with our lovely Kari. She will assist you with selecting your favorite images, and help with the tough decision of how to display them. When coming for this appointment, it is helpful to have all 'decision makers' present.

Diekemper Photography is the best place to go for any pictures that you would need taken. Megan and Kari are very professional, energetic, enthusiastic, and they listen to all requests that you might have. They can come up with and produce any kind of picture that you prefer. I had my senior pictures and my puppies pictures taken at Diekemper Photography. They always impress everyone I know. I would definitely recommend them to anyone that needs pictures taken.
During our sessions, I like to incorporate color! We have tons of props, furniture, and backgrounds to work with....and we are constantly adding to them everyday.... it's addicting!
Our studio was built as a natural light studio. We have huge windows to let in that yummy gorgeous light. I love the feel of bright and airy images. However, I do like to photograph with studio lighting as well.
When it comes to newborns and children, we provide even more to customize their sessions! Small chairs, crates, bowls, wraps, hats, headbands, beds, stools, anything and everything I can get my hands on! Of course, we also encourage clients to bring any props that may make their sessions more unique.

Studio Space
The Watch me Grow Collections are very popular here at Diekemper Photography. It is the BEST way to document your child's first year! Our collections range from 3 sessions a year to 5 sessions a year, plus you can mix in any children specials you attend, AND all collections come with an album after the first birthday. It is definitely a cherished item to parents.

Aside from seeing the kiddos for each of their sessions throughout the year, the album is my favorite part of the whole collection!!
